On Friday, September 30th, 136 employees were seen walking around central campus adorned in their favorite ISU gear. They were gathered for ISU WellBeing’s first Cyday Friday Walk.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Cyday Friday event, you may have been a bit confused to see free water bottles and Cy in central campus. Cyday Friday is typically a student event in which Cy gives out 100 free water bottles to students wearing their ISU attire on the Friday before a home football game. Last Friday we decided to mix it up a little bit and take over the event. ISU WellBeing paired the time honored tradition with a one mile walk around central campus to promote walkability, wellbeing, connection, mindfulness, and appreciation of all our employees hard work.
Well, it was a huge success! Employees met the walk with excitement and conquered it with confidence. Many were overheard saying, “That was a mile? It didn’t even seem like it,” and are excited to participate in more walking events to come.
The turnout for Cyday Friday was great, and we commend all those who joined us for some fresh air, a walk, and a little bit of social time! We are excited for our upcoming weekly Friday Walk and Talks starting Friday October 14!
Hope you join us outside Beardshear at 12:15 for the walk!
Walk with you soon!
